A Plant Import Permit, issued for a fee of SR30/- should be obtained from Plant Protection Services Section prior to placing an order with your supplier for the importation of the following items:
• Seeds, Grains, Bulbs, Rhizomes, roots and Tubers
• Seedlings and in-vitro Plantlets
• Fresh vegetables
• Beneficial Organisms for Biological Control and Scientific Research
• Fresh Fruits
• Growing Media such as Compost, Moss, Vermiculite etc
• Fresh Cut Flowers
• Timber and Rough Sawn Timber
• Leaves and thatching materials
• Any other plant parts
Non-compliance to any of the conditions laid down in the Plant Import Permit may entail the destruction of the imported consignment without compensation as provided in the Plant Protection Act 1996.
