To strengthen the control methods against harmful organisms, the PRPV supports the IOC countries at two levels : the approval and the control of phytopharmaceutical products, and the search for alternative control methods (biological or integrated control).
Experimentation The PRPV finances the experimentation of phytopharmaceutical products in view of their approval for minor uses. The objective is that farmers stop using products that have not been approval (simply because no approved products exist for that particular use) because of the risks for the user himself, the consumer and the environment. Biological control Biological control trials are under way conducted against the fruit fly and various other pests and diseases. |
