Quality of the agricultural products
So as to prevent accidental introduction of harmful organisms in the region through the importation of contaminated agricultural products, the PRPV supports the elaboration of multiple diagnosis methods by regional laboratories. The CIRAD in Réunion island and the MSIRI in Mauritius are actually preparing a multiplex diagnosis method enabling the simultaneous detection on a single crop of several pathogens at an early crop stage (on seeds, for example).
Quality of phytopharmaceutical products
The laboratory responsible for analysing pesticides and residues of pesticides in Madagascar is in charge of the analysis of samples collected from the distributors in the IOC countries, the objective being to check whether the commercialized products are in accordance with the registered product.
